Caramelized Onion and Prosciutto Pizza

One single serving pizza crust

1/2 cup to 1 cup of mozzarella cheese

4 pieces of prosciutto

1 onion

1 tbsp of butter

2 tbsp. olive oil

3-4 cloves of garlic finely diced

1-2 tbsp. of balsamic glaze

Preheat your oven to 500 degrees. Start by caramelizing your onion. I did mine in the Instant Pot (Pressure cook it for 5 minutes and then sauté it for 5 minutes). Otherwise you can do it the old fashioned way (in sauté pan cook onion in butter for 10 minutes on high, then on medium to low for 30 minutes to an hour, stirring occasionally so it doesn’t stick to the pan or burn). Place your pizza crust on a baking sheet. Drizzle it with olive oil and spread it evenly on the crust. Then spread finely diced garlic all over the pizza crust evenly. Take your prosciutto and break it up into 1 to 2 inch pieces and distribute evenly on the the pizza. Evenly distribute the caramelized onion. Then add cheese. Place in oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, until cheese is slightly brown and bubbly. After pizza is done baking allow it to cool for 5 minutes. Then drizzle on balsamic glaze and enjoy!
